About the Opportunity

As a Shop Hand you will be responsible for:

  • Shipping / Receiving - Receive all goods and material verifying the packing slip and state upon arrival. Ship all goods to be delivered by a local or long distance courier, completing all documentation to ensure prompt dispatch. Coordinate the departmental delivery of all items received by the company to the individual who ordered them;
  • Assisting with day to day building organization, maintenance, and snow removal; Shop, Tech Bay, Yard and Parking lot. Participate in environmental, health, and safety inspections;
  • Ensuring the proper storage and / or disposal of hazardous materials. Including compressed air bottles, gasoline, diesel, transformer oil, and solvents;
  • Prioritize building maintenance issues. Work with management to ensure issues are handled in an appropriate and cost effective manner;
  • Assisting with preparation of equipment and material for deployment on jobs;
  • Organizing, maintaining, calibrating, certifying test equipment;
  • Organizing, maintaining, calibrating, certifying safety equipment including hot gloves, hot sticks, grounds, gas monitors, safety lanyards, and harnesses;
  • Material stocking and organization of cleaning and oil sample kits;
  • Assisting with fleet management, including pool trucks, trailers and heavy equipment;
  • Inventory management of material and equipment stored inside and out of the building (Shop Racking, Seacans);
  • Personal Protective equipment stocking and distribution; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma with 1+ years working experience in a Shop/Manufacturing Environment
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driver’s abstract
  • Computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office
